As an experienced RN you have a wide variety of options available, but it really depends on what it is you prefer to do and why you feel burned out in your current job.
Would changing jobs or practice areas help? In other words, if you're a floor nurse would switching to ER, or NICU, for example, be refreshing? Would becoming a Legal Nurse Consultant be interesting? Forensic Nurse? All very real avenues you could pursue with ease...
With your background in nursing and a BS in Management you'd be a perfect candidate for a Pharmaceutical Rep position with a drug company.
Or would transitioning into health care administration appeal to you? Using your employer's tuition assistance benefits you could take advantage on online Healthcare Administration or Healthcare Management degree programs and move away from the clinical side of health care entirely. Best wishes with whatever you decide to do!I am a RN with no experience but nursing.I have a BS in Management. My job is killing me!How can I change jobs?
What kind of direction do you want to go? Do you want to pursue another job in healthcare or go into a new direction all together? I think you have to answer that question first. Then decide on what steps you needto take in order to get the job you want.
In order to make a change in career you might need additional schooling/classes, volunteer experience, or what have you. I am sure when applying to a job that you have many wonderful skills that you acquired from nursing. You just have to learn how to apply those skills and relate them to the position you want.
My best advice is to get started ASAP. Research other career options, search the paper/online and see what jumps out to you, attend information fairs at the local community college, etc.
