Greetings! How do I make sure of no pre-existing condition restriction on health insurance when changing jobs?

I'm starting a new job soon, from private sector to fed gov't and presently have CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield.Greetings! How do I make sure of no pre-existing condition restriction on health insurance when changing jobs?
You will have a pre-existing if you have a 63 day lapse of coverage. So buy Cobra coverage for one month from the job you are leaving and then you'll only have a 60 day lapse and you'll be set. Or just to cover youself you can buy all 3 months until the new policy sets in.Greetings! How do I make sure of no pre-existing condition restriction on health insurance when changing jobs?
Call the HR department at the new job and ask about pre-existing conditions. They'll be able to give you the most accurate information.
Yes, check with the personnel function at your new govt job. Unless I'm mistaken, federal employees usually have a choice of health plans to enroll in.
Pre x is chosen only by the employer group! You will have to ask the employer group of if you know who the insurance is through call them and see if they have a pre x on the group. Before you call them get the group #er
If it's at all possible, try not to let your current policy lapse until the day before the new one starts. Meaning, if you don't get benefits at the new job for three months or more, it's worth it to COBRA your current coverage. A good many plans will waive the pre-existing clause if you can prove you had insurance immediately prior to the new plan.
