I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant, even though it's too early to test to be certain yet. But I was wondering, how long do I have before I have to change jobs? I work as a truck unloader for Wal Mart and I'm always lifting heavy boxes, and I've heard that it can be dangerous during pregnancy. How soon should I tell my manager that I need to be put on lighter duty for my pregnancy, or do I even have to?How soon would I have to change jobs?
i had the same job you did last year, the only position at walmart i can think of that would not be too hard for a pregnant woman would be a cashier, (i also believe theyre a higher paygrade than unloaders from what i remember) id reccomend a floor associate, but they tend to get bad part time hours only and are a lower paygrade.
put in the request for transfer as soon as you can, when you first get checked out by a doctor and get a proof of pregnancy (a document stating you are pregnant and signed by your doctor) you can tell your manager why you want to transfer and if they dont believe you show them the document. How soon would I have to change jobs?
You don't need to lift anything heavy at any point during pregnancy so as soon as you find out you are pregnant, you need to ask for lighter duty.
As soon as you find out for sure, tell your manager.
You will eventually have to if you are pregnant. Check with your doctor on when you should stop lifting heavy things. They should be able to tell you strictly when you will need to stop. Good luck.
Tell your manager as soon as you know for sure, and get your doctors advice. Your boss has an obligation to find you some light duty work until you are back after the birth and you have healed up.
in one month
If you are suspecting you are pregnant or you already are then you hv to change your Job.. lifting heavy weight is forbidden..
You need to tell the boss now that you are pregnant it's not safe to lifting heavy boxes while you are pregnant it can cause you miscarry! you can change job or change something in walmart like clean up in bathroom, or cashier, or something like that to change it something easy for you while you are pregnant, there is no soon, I mean as you found out you pregnant it's time to change right a way!
I would tell them as soon as you find out for sure that you are pregnant. Heavy lifting can cause you to miscarry especially in this early stage. I don't mean to scare you, but be up front with them a.s.a.p.
As soon as you are positive you are pregnant.
If you are 100% sure you are preggo, give your employer a note (with the date) that says you are pregnant (keep a copy for yourself as well). If it is on paper, it is better for both of you - that way something HAS to be done. Good Luck!
