What are the best lies to tell on a resume?

Hi, I've been told by 3 career counselors that i should try to ' embellish' on my resume, and to change job titles on a few of my jobs.

Although this seems morally reprehensible to me, i'd like a few pointers on how this can be done, ?What are the best lies to tell on a resume?
It's not really lying, just fluffing it up. Making something mundane sound more important. Instead of saying ';cashier'; you'd call yourself a ';customer service representative.';

That's what they tend to me. Also, if you are going to lie, make it a somewhat truthful lie.

I hate fluffing my resume, but if it's boring and flat, you'll probably get passed over.What are the best lies to tell on a resume?
Those counselors gave you bad advice. Embellishments are a very, very bad idea. Most employers will do a background check, and they will call your previous employers and your college to verify the information you put on your employment application. The higher the position and the more money it pays, the more in-depth the background check will be. Even if you give a stellar performance during your interview and you are hired, the moment they find out that you lied on your application you will be terminated. And if you used any benefits or collected a signing bonus you will have to pay it back.

Depending on the type of job you're applying for when you do this, you could also get into some serious trouble. If, for instance, its a job that requires a professional license or special permit, and you lied about having these things, the employer may report you to the state and you would then be facing fraud and criminal charges. Always do things the legal and proper way. People who tell lies and commit fraud always have to be on the lookout because eventually they're going to get caught.

What you can do to make your resume look more impressive is to include more details about your education and experience that are relevant to the position you are applying for.
For example if you were to describe yourself don't just say ';I am pretty'; say something like, ';I have beautiful brown hair and glowing hazel eyes.';

Get it. Just embellish what you already have. Take your attributes and make them look better on paper. You want to wow somebody that has never seen you before, so just be very descriptive about yourself and what you have accomplished.
';Embellishing your resume'; is not the same as lying.

Embellishing your resume only means to spruce it up. Make it sound more polished, more professional, more experienced, MORE HIRABLE.

If you lie, you'll get caught. If you lie, no good can come of it.
Things like of u worked as a bus boy for a Cici's Pizza say u were a manager, and if you were the clean up guy for some industrial co, say you were a lead. Put bogus numbers of friends that are willing to lie and say they were your ex boss. Always works for me ;)
well, instead of saying stuff that MIGHT imply that could do the job, you should say stuff that ENFORCES that you can do the job, above and beyond the standards.
No lies are best! If you lie, future employers will probably expect things you can't do. You're better off being yourself and telling the whole truth.
No lies. Changing the title to customer service rep from cashier would be a pointer.
I am a master at the art of, ';May I take your order?';

That will get you anywhere.
No lies are good, be honest.
