Switching jobs at Navy boot camp?

Im in dep now as MA but just filled out paperwork to request to change jobs to corpsman HM. (i don't know the name of the paperwork/form)



So now im in the waiting game for my recruiter to call me and say i have a new ship date for HM. However if doesn't happen by my ship date i go as MA.



But i know i can still change my job at boot camp but i dont know how that works. is it more of a guarantee? or does it still depend on if theres an opening? i just want to know my odds of getting to HM

You don't change jobs at boot camp. Whatever's on you contract when you ship is what you're going to be doing for the navy.



You don't have an HM contract in hand before you swear in the second time, just have a little chat with your recruiter about dropping out of DEP, but DO NOT ship with a contract guaranteeing something you don't want to do.Switching jobs at Navy boot camp?
If you go to basic, your not gonna be able to switch jobs very easy.



Because when you ship to basic, is dependent on when your A School starts.



They plan it, so you graduate basic, within two weeks of your A school starting.



They will not let you switch jobs and then do nothing for a month, waiting for a A School.
no you cannot change your rating at Boot Camp.



if you do not get to sign a new contract for HM you will be an MA.
