How long does a misdemeanor stay on your record in Kansas?

I received a misdemeanor ticket for open container 3/1/07 and completed the diversion requirements in 5/07. How long will this be on my record and is there any way to get it off. I am trying to change jobs. ThanksHow long does a misdemeanor stay on your record in Kansas?
If you do nothing, it will generally stay on your record forever. You are eligible for expungement, however. The only problem is you're about two years away from eligibility.

In Kansas, you can apply for expungement to the court in which you were diverted if three years have elapsed from the time you completed the conditions of your diversion. In May of 2010 you can apply to have the entire record expunged, including your arrest records. How long does a misdemeanor stay on your record in Kansas?
Criminal offenses don't come off your record the way bad credit comes off your credit report after several years.

The record WILL show, however, that you completed diversion.
Amy has a good answer. The only way to get it off your record is to have it ex ponged. The crime must be several years old and then you can petition the court to remove it.
